WHAT WE BELIEVE

The following are the core beliefs of Direct Baptist Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

About God: We believe that there is ONE and only ONE true and living God.  He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, the Redeemer, the Preserver, and the Ruler of the universe.  He is infinite in His holiness and all other perfections.  God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future.  To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience.  The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
About the Bible: The Bible is God's Holy Word.  It was written by men, divinely inspired, and is God's revelation of Himself to man.  It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction.  It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter.  Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.  It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
About the Gospel: The word gospel literally means "GOOD NEWS!"  The Message of The Gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ!  That Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.  The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:3-6 that
"The Gospel" is, "that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures..."  God has given a doomed world good news:
The Gospel of Jesus Christ!
About the Future: We believe that Jesus Christ IS coming again!  According to His promise, in His time, Jesus Christ will return again!  He will return in all of His glory to this Earth, both personally and visibly to rapture the Church.  The dead in Christ will rise; and Christ will then judge all men in righteousness.  The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, an eternity of everlasting torment and punishment.  The righteous however, in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their eternal reward and will dwell forever and ever in Heaven with the Lord.
